🏥Emory University purchased the former Egleston Hospital property at 1405 Clifton Road and 1712 Uppergate Drive from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, acquiring two buildings and parking on 7.5 acres in the heart of Emory's campus. The university plans to demolish both buildings over 12 to 18 months due to cost-prohibitive renovation expenses, using the space as open area short-term while retaining the 840-space underground parking deck for university inventory.
🏨Hotel Phoenix opens December 1 at Centennial Yards with 292 guest rooms, 15 suites, a penthouse across 18 stories, plus 15,000 square feet of event space including a ballroom. The $5 billion development's latest opening features Zephyr restaurant blending French and Southern cuisine off the lobby, with a terrace lounge, outdoor pool, and event lawn scheduled to open spring 2026 as part of revitalizing Downtown Atlanta's 50-acre "Gulch" area.

🎄Atlanta Christkindl Market returns to Lawrenceville Lawn opening Black Friday November 28 through Christmas Eve December 24, bringing traditional German festivities with free admission. The holiday market features international and local food including schnitzel, brats, raclette, and pierogies, plus artisan vendors with handmade ornaments, jewelry, and gifts, alongside a 50-foot Ferris Wheel, Santa photos, Glühwein, hot cocoa, and mulled apple cider. Open Wednesday-Thursday 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with extended hours Christmas week and designated parking at Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center featuring the Winterlight Walk trail guiding visitors to the market.
