[V]esta’s View

February is hitting its stride in Atlanta, and the city is absolutely brimming with energy! This week, we’re diving into everything from the high-stakes thrills of F1 racing at The Interlock to the immersive mystery of the new Serial Killer Exhibition at Pullman Yards and the soulful sounds of 112 at The Tabernacle. Whether you're a foodie looking to snag prizes at Doc Chey's Lunar New Year celebration or a sports fan keeping up with the Hawks’ home stand, there is truly something for everyone to get excited about.

Beyond the events, we’re keeping a close eye on the local scene as Atlanta continues to prove why it’s the place to be for culture, music, and community. Major shifts are happening in our neighborhoods—from ambitious new towers in Buckhead to the highly anticipated expansion of the Southside BeltLine trail—proving that our city's growth isn't slowing down anytime soon. On the flavor front, West Midtown is revving its engines with the grand opening of F1 Arcade, while the BeltLine gets a taste of New York with the arrival of Pop-Up Bagels.

We’ve also got the inside track on local real estate, featuring some stunning active listings that put you right in the heart of the action, including an investment property in Peoplestown perfectly positioned for World Cup momentum and three different properties coming soon in Reynoldstown (👀 you’re the first to know). From the arts at the High Museum to the energy of the Atlanta Oyster Festival, we've curated the very best of the A to help you navigate your weekend like a local.

🌳 Planning is underway to transform the historic Atlanta Prison Farm site into one of the city’s largest public greenspaces and memorials, with a community meeting scheduled for February 7 to gather input. This ambitious project, known as the Restoration Memorial and Preserve Masterplan, offers a unique opportunity for residents to shape the vision for what the park could become.

🏙️ Exciting new plans emerge for Buckhead as Crescent Communities proposes a two-tower, mixed-use development that will introduce a combined 54 stories of office and residential space at the intersection of Peachtree and Wieuca roads. 🚶‍♀️ Avondale Estates’ North Avondale Road/East College Avenue Complete Street Project nears completion, transforming the main drag into a vibrant corridor for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers alike. With 90 percent completion and final touches expected by March, this project is set to enhance the accessibility and appeal of downtown as warmer months approach.

🚶‍♂️ Significant progress is being made on the Southside Trail sections of the Atlanta Beltline, with the openings of Segments 4 and 5 now scheduled for March, pending weather conditions. This addition will fill critical gaps and establish a continuous corridor linking Buckhead to Zoo Atlanta, enhancing both transportation and leisure options across the city.
